I travel to New York quite a bit, and always fly through Newark Airport. I usually return home on an evening flight, and pick up something for dinner on the way to eat before I get on board. Newark Airport has done some renovations, and their food court has drastically improved. This week, when I flew out of Newark, I decided not to pick up food in advance, but to try a burrito from Currito. I love burritos, and was curious if these were any good.
I wanted to be somewhat healthy, so I ordered the Mediterranean burrito with tofu – Black bean hummus, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and tofu on a whole wheat tortilla. There aren’t any pictures of the burritos on the menu, but I was expecting something somewhat bright and colourful and fresh looking, since each burrito is hand made. What I got, instead, was this:
Er, not very appetising to eat a grey burrito. And it tasted just about as good as it looked (not very good). (actually, my photo does it a bit of justice – in real life it was a grey, blobby mess). The upside to this dinner experiment was probably that it left me with breath guaranteed to make my seatmate keep his distance. Next time, I’ll remember to pick up sushi on the way to the airport!
